Aye TaiTai does not keep any company recently, most of her friends being hard at work in the rat race. But Aye TaiTai does not mind FREE movie invites. So when she received one from Shaw in their VIP theatre, it was like - Why not?
Shaw's VIP theatre is located SOMEWHERE in one of the Shaw buildings. When Aye TaiTai went there, most of the office workers had already gone home on time on a Monday night, so the floor was almost desserted. The toilets were those really old ones - with the heavy metal doors and the whole floor was dark, dark, dark. There was just one staff there handing out tickets. Even so, she went off when the movie started, leaving all of us ALONE in the big dark theatre.
No food and drinks were allowed in this theatre as it was a special preview cinema. Seats were not the typical cinema flip bottom seats. They were instead big hefty armchairs. Initially sit on it quite shiok lah. But after half an hour, Aye TaiTai started getting neck ache, shoulder ache, arm ache. Coz the arm rests were quite low and the back of the chair reached up only to her shoulder level.

- "The Company You Keep is a 2012 political action thriller, produced and directed by Robert Redford. The story centers on recent widower and single father, Jim Grant, a former Weather Underground anti-Vietnam War militant wanted for a bank robbery and murder, who hid from the FBI for over thirty years posing as an Albany attorney. He becomes a fugitive when his true identity is exposed by Ben Shepard, an aggressive young reporter. Grant must find his ex-lover, Mimi, the one person who can clear his name, before the FBI catches him. Otherwise, he will lose everything, including his 11-year-old daughter Isabel. While Ben struggles with ethical issues as a journalist, Jim and his old friends from the Weather Underground must live with the consequences of their radical past." (From Wikipedia)
Aye TaiTai's Popcorns
Aye TaiTai found this show really S-L-O-Www... (It's maybe coz she is not from Robert Redford and Susan Sarandon's era, you see.)
But surprise, surprise, got the Transformers guy leh! He looks really nerdy in this show though. A Peter Parker or Clarke Kent look-alike type of journalist.

Appearances-wise, it was kind of interesting to see how Robert Redford and Nick Nolte have "widened" since their last movie appearances. It's been quite some time since they appeared on the big screen mah.
But don't play play hor - Despite his sluggish movements in the slow scenes, Robert Redford can run very fast when chased by the police!

The plot was kind of predictable - a plot within a plot. Can guess what is going to happen next... Maybe Aye TaiTai watched too many Korean and Taiwanese drama serials. Hiak hiak hiak!
Characters were not well-developed leh, somewhat quite flat - Robert Redford was rushing about from crony to crony to crony. He was the lead character, yet there was hardly any chance for the audience to understand him. There was just a lot of action on his part, with little character development.
Oh yah, simi "politcal thriller" huh... No politicians in this show leh. Only some fugitives, lots of policemen, a journalist, and a few dogs.

A Word Of Thanks
Regardless, Aye TaiTai is appreciative to Shaw for allowing her to experience the special screening and preview a movie with a strong cast. Thanks Shaw! :D
